Green Wood Floor Cleaner and a Giveaway too

Please note: I received a review product in exchange for my honest opinion.

While I was so excited to buy our family home, I think there have been some feelings of inadequacy on my part. I use to be really bad at housework really good at depression. I could find a ton of reasons why it really didn’t matter to keep things tidy. I was really good at hiding and keeping myself busy helping other people. In all honesty, I just didn’t have the energy or desire to keep up with the housework. I have been working really hard to make myself realize that housework isn’t about how others see my house but more about making me (and my family) know that it shows that we matter too. I have come such a long way on my journey beyond depression. Sometimes just creating lots of to-do lists can help keep me accountable whether I feel up to it or not. Only a former therapist can analyze housework like that so let’s just move on.! Sometimes we just need to find a product that can help make our life easier and our home something to be proud. That’s why I am so happy to have found the O-Cedar Easywring Mop (found at Walmart here). Read on to find a natural hardwood floor cleaner recipe and a giveaway too!

My family home was purchased in 1989 complete with wood paneling and hideous brown carpet. It is a 1915 Victorian house with the original woodwork. My mom spent the last 20+ years redoing the original hardwood floors, getting rid of the drop ceilings and wood paneled walls, and more to make the home the magnificent home that it is today. I could not be more proud to call this our home! I am determined to keep it just as magnificent has they did.

With 3 boys, 3 cats, and a garden, things can get messy, though. When I told my boys to take off the shoes on the back porch, they thought that meant if they skipped the step of shoes and went outside with socks (or barefoot) that they were following the rules. I explained that the dirt doesn’t care if they are wearing shoes or not, they will still track the dirt in but boys will be boys! Lucky for me, O-Cedar Easywring Mop is an easy to use option for keeping our hardwood floors clean.

Before using O-Cedar Easywring Mop, you see a slight dullness to the wood, splotches, and dirt buildup.

There are lots of floor cleaners available. However, I like to use green cleaners. Use my simple to make natural hardwood floor cleaner with ingredients that are option found in the pantry to create a safe floor cleaner. I like to switch up my essential oils such as this time I used agave lime for a summery scent. As for the amount of essential oil each time you can adjust the scent to figure out how strong each scent much be. Keep in mind that with essential oil, a little bit can go a long way, though!

OCedarNaturalHardwoodFloorCleanerRecipeAfter the O-Cedar Easywring Mop, the hardwood floors have a renewed brightness and revived color once the coat of children and kids is wiped off. The triangle-shaped microfiber mop head is great to get the dirt and durst of all the corners along the basements and in the hard to reach areas.

Clean one side of a window in horizontal strokes, and the other side in vertical strokes. So if you see streaks when you’re done, you know which side of the window has the streak.

My best tip is pick one room and stick with it until it’s all clean then move on. I’m super bad about jumping around and at the end of the day you can’t tell I even touched any of the rooms :(!

I am a clean as you go person. I think it is easier to clean up small messes that are fresh than to put it off and have a big , dried up mess to clean.

I usually clean after I am done doing something instead of waiting to clean over long periods of time.

I make sure everything is done before I go to bed. No dirty dishes, no toys laying around. Even if you fluff your pillows and fold any throws, you will really be glad you did in the morning. I also prep the coffee maker the night before. I just wake up and push a button.
