Fitbit flex technology review & giveaway to start the new year off right!

Beginning of the year is a great time to evaluate your goals. What were you doing that worked? What just made you feel like a failure? Goals (new year resolutions or not) should be obtainable. I bought myself a FitBit Flex from Best Buy to see what I could do to lose that last little bit of weight and get back on track after the holidays and move. With technology being such a big part of all of our lives, the FitBit Flex makes a lot of sense to me!

For me, my goal last year was just to keep moving since the car wreck and to drink more water. I did an awesome job drinking more water (don’t worry I will share how with another review/giveaway later!) However, I wanted to push my body like before the car wreck which didn’t work out so well. I would push myself to the point of pain. Then I would take a long break from working out. As I realized that I was creating a system where I felt like a failure. I decided to just get moving more. Park further away. Walk when I can. Maybe move a little faster but not run. Workout but it doesn’t have to be crazy intense anymore. Backing off motivated me. Finding ways that were convenient worked for me!

With Fitbit Flex, you can track your activity and sleep to be the most efficient!

  • For activity: Fitbit Flex tracks your steps, distance, and calories burned. Also, you can set goals and sync your stats wirelessly.
  • For sleep: Fitbit Flex measures your quality of sleep. You can even set a silent alarm that helps you wake up without waking up the whole house.

  • Large & small wristbands

  • Wireless sync dongle

  • Charging cable

  • Free membership – includes ability to log and track activity, food, sleep, water, body mass, weight, and more

  • Access to free mobile apps for iPhone and Android

If you use Walgreens Balance Rewards, you should sign up for their Steps program. You earn 20 points per mile. FitBit Flex (and some other devices) can sync with your account. How great is that you don’t have to log any extra info!?!

Convenience is why I decided to try the Fitbit. I thrive on technology and how it makes my life easier. I also like being challenged and motivated the daily reminder on my wrist keeps me accountable. Fitbit Flex syncs with my computer and phone to help make accountability easier. When I looked at similar products, I didn’t like that some had monthly subscription fees for syncing stats. I wanted convenience but didn’t want to regret it with additional fees.

Let’s get this year off to a great start! Enter now to wear your own FitBit Flex!

I want 2014 to be the year I recover from my eating disorder. It has taken over my life and I want it back. I do not need to take out my emotions on food and have food control me. Instead, the key to my happiness lies in being fit, healthy, and happy.

I did the Color Run with my family last year. I can tell you that was one of the most fun and rewarding things that we have done as a family! We just moved to Little Rock and I hear that (from an avid marathon friend) that Little Rock Marathon is a good one! Someday I hope to get there too!

While I like to focus on more fresh whole foods, I think that the sneaky chef cookbooks helped me find ways to keep everyone happy and healthy!

Once I started tracking I didn’t realize how much ideal time I had standing still. I have been starting to pace around when I am doing everyday tasks like talking on the phone, brushing my teeth, etc…

Have you tried p90x? My husband did it with great results. It’s nice to have something to get you quicker where you want to be. Then do maintenance to stay there.

My goals are to get my license!
I was in a car accident in 2010 that nearly killed my son thanks to a driver texting while driving and I haven’t driving since! thats My MAIN Goal

I am so sorry! I was in a car wreck about 2 years ago when my husband asleep. I was paralyzed on the right side from a spinal cord injury and slowly got to where I have some feeling some of the days. I use to have to take relaxers just to get in the car. If I fell asleep though, I would wake up feeling like it was happening again. I had someone drive me around for for a while. I decided that the car wreck was the world’s weird way of telling us that we didn’t have to do it all (my dad had died and we were driving back and forth to help out). I am finally back out there driving at least part of the time (rather than never) and while not forgotten I can at least get in without stressing out! I will say that I even more cautious driver….frustrated at those who run stop signs/lights, speeding, whatever…I just feel like I hope they don’t end up hurting someone if I know what an accidental car wreck can do! Good Luck!

Mornings are my me time before the kids woke up so I have no excuse to not workout. I have been staying at home with my boys for 6 years. Somedays I wonder what it would be like to go back into working outside of the home. Good luck!
