Why is it so hard to be real? #ThisIsMe
This past week I was in Arkansas for a conference with my online family Collective Bias. I couldn’t wait! All I could think about was all the things I would learn to help make me a better blogger as well as networking. However, I was surprised by how inspired I was several times with some of the touching keynotes. I couldn’t imagine getting up there and telling a room of 300+ people the truth. I guess you could say that I felt the need to only talk about ways to make gluten free and healthy living easier. If I had been doing this for 5+ years and still have bad days, then why would anyone want to listen to me. I felt like a fraud sometimes putting on the facade. When I started Great Contradictions over 2 years ago, I started to tell my story (and...
Read MoreUdi’s Gluten Free for the holidays: Easy Rudolph Muffin Recipe
Udi’s Gluten Free has many of our favorite foods that make our lives a little easier. As many of you know I pride myself on being a homemade mom, but sometimes life gets hectic. I love to rely on companies like Udi’s that consistantly offer quality products. When traveling Gluten Free, we sometimes end up in places like my small hometown that has no gluten free options. We bring all ready made muffins, pizza crusts, etc… to help make my life easier. While I haven’t had the opportunity to test their new products, I am super excited to find and in a store nearby to make my life easier. I trust Udi’s Gluten Free to offer a great alternative to me baking when I either don’t have the time or energy to bake myself! ~~~~~ We decided...

When shopping online, one of the biggest drawbacks for me is paying shipping. Often the option is to spend $25 or $50+ for free shipping, but what if I only want an accessory? Hello Oasap! They offer free worldwide shipping on EVERY ORDER! If I just want to buy a jewelry, tights or anything else, I don’t have to factor in the cost of shipping as well. ~Vintage Style Rose Pendant Necklace {$9.00}~ Vintage style necklace crafted in metal, featuring acrylic rose detail to the center of the engraved pendant set, a long chain with lobster closure. Reaction I love the dainty appearance of the necklace without it being too delicate. As a mom of 3 boys, I like to wear dainty feminine accessories. However, I need them to be durable as well. The Vintage style...
Read MoreActions Speak Louder than words: teaching our kids how to be good people
I truly believe that teaching our kids to be good people is one of our most important jobs as parents. As a child, my step-dad took us along to mow people’s yards anonymously and to deliver groceries from our family-owned store to those in need. I volunteered at the hospital my mom worked at. Even at one point, I gave up Christmas presents because I felt others could use the money more so my ”aunt” and I adopted families for Christmas. I am not saying these things to be boastful. To be honest, the key rule about doing good was to never expect anything in return. I am saying all of this because from an early age my parents taught me that life wasn’t about what we received, but about what we were able to give. They taught me to pay...

As a mom of 3, my mommy moments are limited. Starting at 1 pm when I drop off my 4 year old at school & put my 2 year old down for nap time, my me time clock starts ticking…granted Elliott actually takes his nap My time consists of both a moment to relax along with time for me to get some undisturbed work done. I don’t know if it’s just me, but my energy level in the afternoon has been pretty low lately.
