@sneakychef to the Rescue #giveaway (includes #glutenfree & allergyfriendly)

In my house, I make no excuses for healthy eating.  I have raised my boys from homemade baby food.  Along the way, I have enjoyed teaching them the importance of healthy eating.  Our motto: food is fuel.  "Mom, but I'm not hungry" "That's okay, but you won't have energy for the fun stuff later" What do you know they are miraculously starving.  The boys are healthy eaters, but they all have their quirks.  How they don't like sweet potato fries is beyond me, but I find a way to sneak in the sweet potatoes :) My 4 yo & 2 yo love salads.  however, my 6 yo was adamant that he didn't like salads, but one day he did.  It is amazing how from day to day their favorite (or least favorite) can swap sides.  I don't make a big deal about it, but I do get sneaky... Meet Risa “Lice Lady”: Lice Prevention Tips + @fairytalesinc Rosemary Repel Line #giveaway

8.20.11 1120

Since many of your kids have started school (or are starting soon), there are not too many issues that concern parents as much as lice.  While my boys have never personally had lice, I do have a horror story from my days as an inpatient counselor for kids. We had over 30 kids infected with lice .  If you have never had the experience of dealing with lice, let me tell you it is tedious and time-consuming.  Dealing with lice can be difficult both physically & emotionally for everyone involved plus the risk of the whole family becoming infected.  Not all parents have  the time or money to spend doing the lice removal.  I remember when I was in elementary school the policy on lice was either parents used the lice removal system or the child had to have their hair cut short or shaved.  The shaved head was a stigma of "I have lice" and lice thrive along the scalp, so cutting hair is not really that beneficial.  I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the owner of Fairy Tales Hair Care, … [Read more...]

@safetytat Review & Giveaway: Must-have for parents

While we try our hardest to be perfect parents, we are human after all.   Not too many things fear parents (and even the children) like the idea of being lost.  I remember when I was about 4 or 5 years old with my mom at a water park getting lost.  I remember her saying to stay where she left me, but to kids time can seem like forever.   Someone that worked at the water park helped me, but waiting seemed like an eternity too.  I remember being scared and my mom being upset & mad at the same time when she found me.  I would hate for my kids to ever have that feeling of what if my parents never find me... How SafteyTat began The idea for SafetyTat temporary child ID tattoos was born of necessity one weekend at an amusement park. On Labor Day Weekend, Baltimore Mom, Michele Welsh and her husband, there with their three small children, felt out-numbered. To stave her panic, she quickly wrote her mobile phone number on each of their arms with a ballpoint pen. As she did this, … [Read more...]

Softlips lip balm: Pamper Yourself Review & Giveaway #glutenfree

Hi, I am Natalie a lip balm addict.  While I may be an addict, I don't have the luxury of being relaxed when it comes to choosing a lip balm.  With Celiac Disease, something as simple as a contaminated lip balm could turn into a dire emergency.  There are lip balm brands that are gluten free, but they aren't as easy to find since health products have even more undefined standards than food.  Not too mention, not all mainstream companies are willing to state gluten free on their products.  Wouldn't it be great if us Celiacs (& other gluten free individuals) could just walk into just about any store (mass merchants included) for our lip balm?  Oh wait... We can thanks to Softlips! Softlips has been trusted for over 20 years.  However, just in time for Summer, Softlips has updated it's look for a clean, simple, and balanced design with vibrant fields of color that pop!  Softlips combines SPF 20, moisturizing emollients with a sheer glossing effect, and a convenient, slim stick … [Read more...]
