Joovy Bicycoo BMX review from the eyes of a middle child

I never get bored of my kid's new accomplishments & 1st's. I am that mom that photographs every moment. I would just hate to miss that look of excitement of them realizing "I did it!" "Look at how big I am" type moments. Our middle son is turning 5 in August. The hard part about having 3 kids is that the middle one often is treated older or younger based on the situation. I try to put in perspective (and remind my husband) of how old each of them are so we don't treat them like babies or expect too much. Anyways, back to the task at hand. Hunter has been ready to move from tricycle to big boy bike. I have been doing research to figure out what to get him. Have you heard about balance bikes? Traditionally, training wheels are the way to go when teaching kids to ride a bike. They focus on learning to pedal and then learn to balance later. However, with balance bikes, they learn to balance first. Balance is the key to successfully learning to ride a … [Read more...]

@YummyEarthCandy Naturals Sour Beans: Great for an allergy-friendly Easter! #momsparkmedia

Jelly Beans are a staple of Easter, but most contain chemicals & probability of gluten cross-contamination not too mentions a lot of ingredients I don't want to give my kids... {label from unnamed jelly bean package} Thanks to Yummy Earth living a healthy lifestyle doesn't necessarily mean we have to leave behind candy... Reaction I am such a kid at heart. I have always loved sour candies so I may be biased. These are some of the best jelly beans I have ever tasted! When it comes to running a household with food restrictions and auto-immune disorders, we have to be more conscious of what we eat not just for contamination reasons, but for the sake of building up our immune system.I am allergic to peanuts on top of being a Celiac so when dealing with candy it always seems like it either has a possibility of peanuts or gluten. Hooray for Yummy Earth for creating a healthier version of a well-loved Easter favorite that exceeds expectations of what a jelly bean should be! They … [Read more...]

@Smarties for an allergy-friendly Valentine’s Day: Love Hearts, Extreme Sour, & some for you …oh my!

4 years down the Gluten Free path and there is so much more for me to learn... Sending the boys to school was definitely one of the hardest decision I ever made.  Hunter has had pneumonia a few times thanks to gluten breaking down his immune system.  Before me, I had never really meant anyone dealing with food allergies or food restrictions at this level.  I find it funny how people talk about me like I am some SuperMom.  How do you do it? they say.  Like anyone else, I just do what needs to be done while trying to stay balanced between over-reacting & under-reacting. Friday afterschool, our oldest son walks to the car with this around his neck in celebration of 100th day of school, so what do I do? Fruit Loops are scary! He gets in the car. His younger brothers (both Celieacs) are mesmerized by the colorful necklace.  I take a deep breathe (while panicing in my mind).  Me: Dylan zip up your jacket, do not touch anything else, and do not give your brothers anything.  We get … [Read more...]

Use @Elmers to create DIY frugal Snowman Lanterns from recycled bottles #ElmersHoliday #GlueNGlitter #cbias

snowman family

The holiday season is here!  This year has been pretty eventful in our household so I am trying to help the kids to spread the true spirit of Christmas & constantly reminding them that Christmas is not about how much money we spend.  Instead we are helping them to focus on the fact that  Christmas is about doing things for others no matter how big or small it seems.  I have seen these adorable Snowman lanterns and decided that these would be perfect to give to teachers & hostesses for Christmas! Walmart is a great place for one-stop shopping.  I was able to search for gifts, craft supplies, and more without dragging the boys from store to store.  I won't lie that I love shopping at Hobby Lobby & Michael's, but only when I have a 40% coupon does it make it worth going.  However, then I feel like I can only purchase one item at a time, which makes me make several trips to those craft stores.  As far as Walmart, with so many departments it just makes it easier for me to … [Read more...]
