YOURS+MINE Date Night

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CollectiveBias Relationships always begin with the best of intentions to make time for each other and to never lose that passion (or a reminder of it). I find it frustrating about the "myth" that once you get married and/or have kids that couple time is gone.  The passion doesn't have to disappear. I am sure I am not alone in the over-whelming to-do list. However, we still make time to stay connected 11 years later in the chaos of life with 3 boys. When we go see relatives, we love to take advantage of convenient sitters (aka the grandparents) for date night. Meet us in the beginning #Yoursandmine  This was after a concert back in 2004. This was us in college BEFORE we were married, working full-time jobs, or had 3 sons. This was when really all we had to do was go to classes, work jobs with limited responsibilities, and spend time with each other & friends doing whatever … [Read more...]

For Disney Pixar Cars lover, Disney Planes is a great gift for his collection! #WorldofCars #shop #cbias

Carscollage

My baby turned 4!?! I am shocked that my youngest is 4 and they are all so grown up! The boys all have quirks and loves that they have kept over the years like Elliott's love of Disney Pixar Cars. Elliott watches Cars the movie, Cars 2, and Mater's Tall Tales religiously. The truck that Mater is based off is actually located about 10 minutes from my hometown Baxter Springs, KS. Being able to go to see Mater when we go back home is a real treat for them! The boys Papa who passed away about 2 years ago was an avid model car collector and he has always encouraged the boys love of Cars! Disney Pixar Cars isn't just about toys it's a reminder of where many of them came from...Papa! Kids are so funny in how they can notice the littlest of details. It was love at first sight the moment he watched the Disney Planes trailer and saw characters he recognized from Mater's Tall Tales and the other Disney Pixar Cars movies! As you can see below, Elliott is all about Disney Pixar Cars and over the … [Read more...]

Allergy Season with Fram Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter #FresherCar #cbias

FramFreshBreezephoto

Since we moved to Oklahoma, I have had issues with allergies for the first time in my life. I was not expecting the way my body literally rejects the great outdoors in the Spring and hoped that my body would adjust yet with 3 years there's no end in sight.  I love that weather apps now let you know days that it will be bad for people who deal with allergies. Anyways, this is what I have been dealing with great weather and high pollen levels. I come from a family of handy people who like to diy like my uncle who rebuilds cars. When I was in high school my brother even taught me how to change my own oil, so Fram is a brand I am familiar with. During Spring time, I can't let the fresh in by opening the windows in our house or car. I really miss being able to let the fresh in, so when I found out about FRAM Fresh Breeze cabin air filters made with Arm and Hammer baking soda I was excited! It helps to trap particles and road dust to keep the car fresh on the inside. Living a … [Read more...]

International Delight Iced Coffee Now offers a Light Version #LightIcedCoffee #CBias

DSC00162

Last May I introduced you all to International Delight's Iced Coffee as a way to save money in comparision to coffee shop drinks with an at-home version of Java Chip Frappuccino {see that post here} using International Delight Iced Coffee that was well-received.But.... I am not just about saving money, but finding healthier ways to indulge. As you can imagine, I was excited to find out that International Delight is coming out with a new light version of International Delight Iced Coffee available at Walmart. This new and improved Low-Sugar Coffee also has reduced calories! I highly suggest you update the recipe above with International Delight's new Light Version. When I order drinks at the coffee shops I usally order low fat sugar-free options, which was one of the setbacks of the regular version of International Delight Iced Coffee. While it was delicious, I usally mixed it with lowfat milk to offset the sugar and calories. However, diluting caused the flavor to be diluted as … [Read more...]

Have you seen the Shaun White Skateboards for kids at Walmart? #ShaunWhiteSupplyCo #CBias

shaunwhiteskateboards8

We are always trying to find new ways to encourage happy healthy kids. Physical activity is a great way to do that! Teaching your kids fun ways to keep active not only helps them physically, but also their emotional well-being. I strive to make my boys healthy inside & out. Our oldest son has expressed interest in skateboarding so we thought we would test the waters while shopping at Walmart I was surprised by how limited the skateboards for kids selection was both by the quantity & quality We just about gave up. We walked past the bike/scooter area (where the other skateboards were) toward toys. When I spotted the Shaun White Supply Co Skateboards for kids display Take a quick look at the skateboards in these pictures. What do you notice?    With a quick glance, I could tell instantly the board that was higher quality. With 3 boys, I know they are going to be rough so I always prefer quality and let them distress their own gear! I am not a professional when it comes to … [Read more...]

mealplannerclothespin1-1

Meal Planning & make-ahead meals has always been a big deal to me especially when we think about how unpredictable things can be. When dealing with food allergies or restrictions it means that we don't always have the luxury of convenience foods. By creating a meal plan and making ahead meals to freeze, I give myself a break when I am not feeling 100%. If I am able to do the prep work, then my husband can just throw a meal in the oven, crockpot, skillet, etc... without having to fuss over the little details. Since I have been trying to get back on track with my organization, I have created this diy meal planner to help hold other family members more accountable. Elmers Painters markers have been the love of my life for a  person like me with limited space who needs to work on better organization year-round. No need to buy brushes since all you do is pop the cap off and paint. It has 100% opaque coverage as well as being acid free {great for scrapbooking} & fast drying! … [Read more...]

Use @Elmers to create DIY frugal Snowman Lanterns from recycled bottles #ElmersHoliday #GlueNGlitter #cbias

snowman family

The holiday season is here!  This year has been pretty eventful in our household so I am trying to help the kids to spread the true spirit of Christmas & constantly reminding them that Christmas is not about how much money we spend.  Instead we are helping them to focus on the fact that  Christmas is about doing things for others no matter how big or small it seems.  I have seen these adorable Snowman lanterns and decided that these would be perfect to give to teachers & hostesses for Christmas! Walmart is a great place for one-stop shopping.  I was able to search for gifts, craft supplies, and more without dragging the boys from store to store.  I won't lie that I love shopping at Hobby Lobby & Michael's, but only when I have a 40% coupon does it make it worth going.  However, then I feel like I can only purchase one item at a time, which makes me make several trips to those craft stores.  As far as Walmart, with so many departments it just makes it easier for me to … [Read more...]
