Welcome to the 30s with Build up, Breakouts, & Thinning Hair

Please note: This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MoreIsBeautiful #CollectiveBias As I have gotten older, I have really started to feel great about my image, my health, and overall state of being. So I hate the idea that I feel self-conscious at times about my thinning hair. To be honest,  I tend to put on a hat or hair extensions (yes I have on hair extensions in some pictures where I have thicker looking hair) to avoid dealing with the real problem! I am not a complainer. I am a go-getter and I am excited to see what Rogaine for Women can do for my hair! Rogaine for Women is a great addition to your daily hair routine to thicken your hair. I have tried MANY different types of products to help give me thicker-looking hair from volumizing to thickening to less breakage, etc... However that's the problem!!! I wasn't trying to get to the "root" of the problem just looking at a quick fix instead. All those … [Read more...]

Night out on the town in NYC: Blowout, Makeup Service, & Wicked!!!

Please note: This is a sponsored post in collaboration with my partnership as Bigelow VIP blogger. Most mornings I wake up like most moms where we spend all morning getting the rest of the house ready then worrying about our appearance last. Who has time to look perfect? I tell myself after I get the boys dropped off that I will take down my hair to fix it and put on a little makeup. Of course that never happens! I come back home to start cleaning the house and starting my work since I work at home. When I found out that we were being treated to a day of pampering in NYC, I was so excited! Blowout at Dreamdry in NYC and Bloomingdale's SOHO for makeup service with Bobbie Brown sounds like a dream! The idea of having someone else fuss over my hair and makeup sounds perfect for me who always forgets to have time for myself! Join me in my day of pampering preparing for a night out in NYC ending with Wicked! Usually my morning look is with hair up, no makeup, and my glasses (pictured … [Read more...]

Summer Makeup Trend: Go Nude with Rimmel Makeup! #RimmelRealBeauty #shop

In Oklahoma, we don't get a break from the heat with months of 90-100+ humid weather. Weather like this means I need shine control and natural looks for summer with staying power. I don't know about you, but I am constantly looking for the next best affordable product. The Walmart makeup section is a great starting point for me while I am out doing our everyday shopping anyways!  My night out on the town look often is smokey eyes and bold red lips. It is a glamourous look that as a mom in a house of boys I don't get to do as often as I would like. Sometimes a full face of makeup (as shown above on the right) can be too much. Not too mention that pairing a face full of makeup with summer heat can cause quite an unflattering mess as well!As much as I love the glam makeup trend,  I need natural looks for summer. I am testing out the Go Nude Summer makeup trend with Rimmel products from the Walmart makeup section. The Go Nude makeup trend is not about not wearing makeup; however, it is … [Read more...]

DIY Colorblock Nail Art #beauty

As I have mentioned before, I was a nail biter for 20+ years. I am relieved to have that addiction over with. Of course, when you have never really had to deal with having nails I felt like I was missing some key information on how to do at-home manicures. I started out with just solid colors to get use to painting my nails. I am a perfectionist so this was an obstacle for me at first. Now I am testing out some of the new nail art trends with my healthy nails and more confidence in the process.  Supplies: Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in Sheer Bliss Sally Hansen INSTA-DRI in Brisk Blue Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Coral Sally Hansen UV Top Coat optionally: I keep Sally Hansen No More Mistakes handy for quick touchups! Apply coat of Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Sheer Bliss. You may want to add an extra coat depending on the amount of coverage you want. Normally I would use nail art tape, but I was all out. I couldn't find any at several locations so I decided … [Read more...]

InfinitiPRO by Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron to the rescue for wavy hair #SoFabCon #beauty

I have no time for myself. I have been known on occasion to leave the house without even looking in the mirror. I like to consider myself low maintenance. I detest spending forever getting ready. However, as much as I love being low maintenance, I enjoy when I get the chance to get pampered, but who has the spare time though? I am lucky to get in for a hair trim every 3-6 months. When I was at SoFabCon recently, Conair was one of the generous brands located in the brand salon. I had to check it out and lucky for me they were giving away InfinitiPRO by Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Irons. They were also doing hair makeovers, but everytime I stopped by there was a line. I have never (Seriously NEVER) even attempted to use a flat iron. With my wavy hair, I feel like my hair is always in between. I generally wear it wavy because it's easy and maybe with some extra curl added since my hair curls easily.  This is me first thing in the morning. This is actually I pretty good hair … [Read more...]

Sally Hansen Gel Strips from a reformed nail biter {Beauty Review}

I don't often talk about being a reformed nail biter. I bit my nails since I was a little girl for 20+ years. Over the years, I kept trying to quit. My mom tried to be helpful, but her help just made me more nervous. I tried several remedies and I finally found what works for me! Nail biting was definitely one of my bad habits that I am glad is a thing of the past. I used a combination of Vitamin B to strengthen nails and Sally Hansen Maximum Nail Growth. Once I kicked the habit though. I started treating myself with at-home manicures. Everyone has bad habits for a reason and mine stems from being a perfectionist! I realized that a trigger to want to bite my nails was when my nails were not even or when the polish started chipping. I would try to fix it then next thing I know I bit all my nails off. I started keeping nice files around and finding long-lasting nail polish. My favorite line is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure especially in Right Said Red Even short my … [Read more...]

Spa Day at home: Manicure and Pedicure masks #ad

manicure1 copy

Summer is hard on my skin. Between the hot humid heat, gardening, playing rough outside with the boys, etc... I have dry hands now. Of course, finding time to get away to a spa isn't top priority. I love finding new ways to pamper myself at home! Voesh has some options that leave me feeling pampered and revived! These little packages are deceiving about the power of their contents... The gloves and booties contain collagen & vitamin e to moisturize your skin. The manicure and pedicure masks are easy to use as well as a relaxing, not too over-whelming scent. I did a foot scrub and hot towel prior to using the foot mask as instructed. The process is as simple as separating the booties... and slipping your feet in! Then, I basically did the same to my hands. The gloves were a bit big for my small hands, but they did the trick. With one size fits most, I would rather it be too big than too tight.One of my favorite features is the removable tips for hands and feet. … [Read more...]
