Summertime seems like it would be filled with days of relaxing and lots of time to do whatever. However, as our family has grown and my own personal obligations have expanded it really has gotten complicated. Staying active is a top priority for me whether I am at home or traveling. Tom’s of Maine® Long Lasting Deodorant  is a great way to help me survive family vacations while staying active.

Before we went on our 2100 mile Road trip in 5 days, there were lots of things we needed to get. I like to have some flexibility in our trip with some planned stops along the way.  Tom’s of Maine’s Long Lasting Deodorant was at the top of the list to keep me fresh during my adventures.

What’s even better is that Tom’s of Maine® Long Lasting Deodorant has no artificial colors, flavors, fragrances, preservatives, or animal testing. The phrase on the back really caught my attention “We believe what’s inside is what matters.” is our way of living as well!

Tips to Stay active while traveling:

  • Make some tentative plans to schedule ways to stay active during the day.

We had so much driving {2100+ miles} to do that we had to make breaks to get out and move. Finding hiking and adventure excursions helps us keep our sanity when stuck in a car for so many hours at a time.In South Dakota, we planned several places to hike like Falls Park in Sioux Falls, SD and Palisades State Park in Garretson, SD

  • In Minnesota, we planned 2 outside activities before spending the day in an amusement park. We began our day wandering around a Japanese garden and hiking at Minnehaha Falls.

  • In Ontario, we got out of the car to walk around Point Park and La Verendrye Parkway

In Fort Frances, I found a playground right next to the water. While they had a more traditional playground, they also had some workout equipment that the whole family could enjoy! I wish all parks had this setup with opportunity for free workout while kids play.

  • Bring supplies to make you feel confident and fresh when you will have to be in a car in between exerting yourselves on hikes (or whatever your activity of choice is).

    • Tom’s of Maine® Long Lasting deodorant is aluminum free and uses hops to control odor-causing bacteria that keeps me fresh during our long days hiking.
    • Tom’s of Maine® Long Lasting Deodorant is a great option for that. I love the lavender and apricot to switch things up.

  • While we are talking about keeping ourselves fresh while staying active, I like to find tricks to keep me looking fresh.

Putting your hair in braids or buns can give some waves to switch things up for evening outings that might require more than workout clothes. We pack one suitcase for 5 of us. I don’t have room nor want to fuss over my hair with curling irons, etc… when I am short on space.

Need 2 hair rubber bands for loose waves:

  • If you like, spray hair with hairspray, texturing spray, etc… to ensure better results if you have straight hair. Place top hair into half ponytail, twist hair, and wrap into bun. Wrap bun tighter for tighter curls.
  • Now do the same with the lower section of hair.

Surprisingly, I haven’t been as active as I would like to be this summer. I need to get moving. These are useful tips for getting in enough activity when you travel. We went away for the weekend and I felt like we were in the car all day, I couldn’t wait to get in some steps but I didn’t get nearly as much as I would have liked!

I will have to give tom’s deodorant a try. The last time it didn’t work well for us – but we swear by the silly strawberry toothpaste!

wow a 2100 mile family vacation, that is awesome. I don’t think they have this product in my area in Texas, but if they do I’m definitely interested in getting it.

Great tips! I am always looking for more ways to stay active, especially when I go on vacation with my family. I feel like the vacation is already exhausting enough, adding more activity onto it just puts me in a bummer mood. I know it’s good for me though, so that’s why I keep going.
