Last year I was able to experience the Bigelow Tea’s Charleston Tea Plantation {America’s largest working tea garden} with the Bigelow family. It was a once in a lifetime experience and next week I will be telling you more about the Bigelow family. However now I want to talk about my experience at the Bigelow Tea factory! After having the experience to meet the Bigelow family, I can tell you for a fact that the Bigelow Tea factory embodies their family values!
~~~~~ Walking into Bigelow Tea headquarters is surreal! I wish I could provide more pictures of the experience but Bigelow Tea needs to keep some of their mystery! The smells, the friendly people, and the sights & sounds of the Bigelow Tea factory were amazing. I can’t imagine going to work everyday with people that are (and like) family along with the glorious smell of tea!
All through out the factory there are items from their past and present!
You can feel Ruth Bigelow in Bigelow Tea despite the fact she is no longer around with the stories, history, and of course with the tea that everyone loves to share. One of my favorite stories is about the whiffing jar that helped get Bigelow Tea started!
With the availability of information so easy to get, I think some brands struggle with creating a personal presence. It’s Bigelow’s personal goal to keep making a positive difference! Bigelow Tea’s (family’s) philosophy is…
“Do the right thing and good things will follow.”
I can’t wait to soon share with you more about Bigelow Tea’s sustainability efforts like pictured below with a picture from their cafeteria. As well as Bigelow Tea’s committment to sustainability they have donated almost 4 million bags of tea to troops overseas with Bigelow’s Tea for Troops program.
I have 2 copies of David Bigelow’s book: My Mother Loved TEA and I would love to help my readers fall even more in love with the Bigelow Family!
