Join us along our Roadtrip to Florida! This is our first road trip as a family so I am pulling out all the tricks including using family owned Bigelow Tea we picked out at Walmart . I am thinking that 2 parents, 3 kids, & 18 hours of driving calls for a treat so let’s make some Bigelow Cold Brew #Americastea …in the car! Cold Brewing tea is a great way to make tea during the summer without having to heat up the house as well as being a more energy efficient way to make delicious tea. I have come up with a plan to make delicious Bigelow Tea in our cooler on our drive.
Road Trip to Miami Beach!and here’s how to save your sanity with some refreshing cold brew Bigelow Tea!
First things first, place bottled water in freezer to keep your Bigelow cold brew tea cold. I put mine in the freezer about 8 hours before we left. For my cooler, I used an insulated tote. My water bottles were still mostly frozen when we arrived in Florida 24 hours later!
You can just throw your Bigelow teabags in the pitcher. However, I prefer to tie them together to quickly remove them when the tea is ready. I have several of my favorite Bigelow Tea varieties featured like English Breakfast, Early Grey, and Vanilla Chai. However, use whatever Bigelow Tea you like!
Drop those Bigelow Teabags into the water, add fresh herbs if you like, put lid back on pitcher, and place in the cooler.
For me, cold brew tea is going to be my sanity saver when I have to take over my shift to drive. Sounds like an awesome reward to me! One of my favorite things about family owned Bigelow Tea is their dedication to sustainability. I love companies that stand for the same values as we do! I packed reusable cups and metal straws to savor our cold brew tea in the car.
Now keep in mind that the time needed for your perfect cup of Bigelow Tea will vary depending on your taste preference and variety. Generally 8-12 hours is the guideline.
You could even make a vanilla chai version if you like! Place Bigelow Vanilla Chai teabags and sticks of cinnamon in it. I love to drink my chai with milk. Along the road, you can pick up some milk to add if you drink it like me! When you are ready to drink, add 1/4-1/2 cup milk and sweetener to taste.
