Laugh along with my own “ – like” experiences #Motherfunny #cbias #shop

Hi! I am the mom of 3 boys. Once upon a time, I was a person who took myself too seriously.  Then I had kids. Now we may dig in the dirt for worms until my kids look like Pig Pen from Charlie Brown, but at least they care about being eco-friendly right? I wait patiently while Elliott finds his “Foot Cups”  each morning (you might know them as shoes). Have you heard of NickMom? It relates to the comedy that is our lives. Lucky for us moms it comes on Nick at 10 pm when the kids are definitely asleep.  Of course, if you need a bit of entertainment during one of your long days of lounging as a mother…wait that is what you do with your days too? Then check out anytime! If you haven’t already learned the art of enjoying the comic routine that is your life….NOW IS THE TIME!

Below is one of last year’s family pictures. We had several that turned out great. The photographer asked us if we wanted a picture of just the 2 of us, and we did. I am usually the one behind the camera for most of the pictures. When we finally see the nice picture of the 2 of us, we noticed our wild kids in the background. Life with kids isn’t always filled with the traditional picture perfect moments, but I can tell you this is one of my favorites. Not because it’s perfect, but because it is real and captures life as it was at that time….crazy!!!

Tip#1: Don’t Take Life too Seriously

(or it will over-whelm you)

Orange Monster Elliott

  • Let’s go back about 4 years ago when I was a mom of a 4 year old, potty-training 2 year old, and a newborn. I think that deserves a moment of silence just reflecting back on all of it. {deep sigh} It’s okay to admit I was not having an awesome day (or month). The house was a wreck, the  older 2 kept waking up newborn, and I just couldn’t get it under control. I may have been having one of those “What was I thinking!?!  days. In my best impersonation of a mother who had it all under control, I said to the boys “I am getting really tired of repeating myself!” Hunter looks at me with the most serious expression he could muster and says to me

“Mommy, I am tired of peeing myself too!”

The spell was broken! My little bundle of energy that a second ago was driving me crazy had me laughing until I cried.  It’s amazing how if we let them kids can change the mood in an instant.

Tip #2: Don’t Trust the cute one(s)!

  • We are in the middle of a move. We will be a little bit further from family. Our in-laws took the boys for the weekend. While we are driving back home after their fun weekend at Mimi & YaYa’s, Hunter informs us

I had Laffy Taffy for breakfast!

This just doesn’t seem like my in-laws. We call later and it turns out that Hunter “forgot” some of the story. They went somewhere to get breakfast that had nothing gluten free. YaYa felt bad and picked out Laffy Taffy for Hunter to eat later. However, Dylan gave the Laffy Taffy to Hunter and Hunter just ate it for breakfast! My kids sold out Mimi & YaYa!

While I am talking about packing, I needed a bit of motivation to give me a pick-me-up. I love the Before and After feature especially this on Moving! That is so true!

  • Elliott loves to tattle on me! He tells my husband when I run a red light and anyone who will listen. Even though, I have  discussed with them a million times that Mommy (and everyone else) can turn right on red. Heaven forbid someone think I am not a law-abiding citizen!?!

Tip#3: It’s okay to make up stories. It’s okay to use your imagination. It’s okay to be silly!

Mommy those are not birds. Those are cat jets.

Apparently, our cats have secret lives that our children elaborately discuss. Oh Really? Frank is a secret agent? Waldo runs a pizza place in Kansas City that he flies to & from each day with super speed? As you can see below, the cats work pretty hard during the day when the boys are away…

  1. LOVE this post! Super cute and funny!

  2. I love that your cats are super heros! And holy crap is the moving thing ever true! I love how my kids’ version of “help” is that they remove everything from the boxes after I’ve put it in. HOLY boogers does that get frustrating! #client
