Back to School shopping means new clothes for everyone! When looking for kids clothes, I try to seek out quality items that are durable, comfortable, & represent each of my kids’ styles.
Polyvore is an awesome way to keep track of items you like and even for pairing outfits. The collage above shows some Cookies Kids items similar to what the boys like to wear. By the way, all the items above are less than $20!

Cookies Kids offers the latest kids fashion at great prices!
In 1972, a young man named Cookie and his brother Marvin went into business together. They rented a 1600 square foot store in Jamaica, Queens, fixed it up, bought inventory and Summer and Fall, and opened a day after Thanksgiving with a full stock of holiday toys. The toys were a success and they put the extra money toward buying children’s clothing for the next season. When that did well, they bought more clothing. The business was on it’s way.
As the brothers Cookie, Marvin and Sonny, who had come in as a third partner in the business, began to open new stores in new locations, inventory expanded. Besides the latest fashions, our customers wanted shoes, toys, backpacks and accessories and we were prepared to deliver.
By the late 1990’s there were six superstores throughout the NYC area, and though they previously had different names, by that time they were all named Cookie’s Kids. Also in the late ’90s came an important addition to Cookie’s Kids’ inventory: school uniforms. It was the steady success in uniform sales that paved the way for founding CookiesKids.com in 2007, which originally sold uniforms and soon after the entire Cookie’s Kids Inventory.

Our oldest is in 2nd Grade. Dylan prefers to wear polos and button-down shirts. I love that they have polo shirts ranging from $3.99 & up. Cheap polo shirts after a few washes leave the collars poorly formed. I like that we can spend the same or a few more dollars at Cookies Kids to avoid wasting money on polo shirts.
We selected the Urban Extreme “Victorious” 3 piece set ($14.99). For that price, I got my 7 year old a pair of jeans, tshirt, & plaid button-down shirt. That is definitely great value paired with great quality! The problem we often have when shopping for Dylan is that he’s tall & skinny. If it fits him length wise, then it doesn’t in the waist. I would love it if Cookies Kids offered more of the adjustable waist pants. The only adjustable pants I found were in school uniform section, which was disappointing.
Our middle son is in Kindergarten this year. He is the closest thing our boy-driven household will get to a diva. He would be happy wearing work suits & ties all the time. When it comes to school though, we need to provide outfits that are comfortable and easy to clean. Hunter loves to wear long sleeves all year long so we decided on the American Hawk “Onside” 2 piece outfit for $14.99 includes hooded long-sleeve shirt and jeans.
Elliott’s 3 so school isn’t here just yet. We decided on a Mad Game “Block the ball” 2 piece outfit ($9.99). For sizes smaller than 4 it is sometimes hard to find a variety of character tees. Cookies Kids has character tees starting at $1.99 ! We have never seen Transformers in his size so we had to get him Transformers “Robots Rule” T-shirt ($1.99)
